About

Assistant lecturer at the University of Mosul. I work on empirical software engineering analytics and I use ML on software repositories to answer engineering questions. I have grown an interest in the application of IR to empirical software engineering. At the moment I am applying for a Fall PhD in Canada with HCED funding.

Education

  • M.Sc. Software Engineering, University of Mosul, 2023. Thesis: ML for software effort and cost estimation on the ISBSG dataset; advisor Dr. Jamal S. Alneamy.
  • B.Sc. Software Engineering, University of Mosul, 2012. Graduated first in class.

Awards

  • Full PhD Scholarship, Higher Committee for Education Development in Iraq (HCED), Office of the Prime Minister — fully-funded international doctoral study.
  • First-Class Honours, B.Sc. Software Engineering, University of Mosul, 2012.

Research Interests

  • Retrieval-augmented tools for software engineers.
  • Effort and cost prediction using historical software data.
  • Mining software repositories.
